Experience, Service and Accountability
Take a look at my professional designation. I choose the title “Real Estate Consultant” purposely. I consider myself more than just a Realtor® who shows properties and writes contracts. I work full time in this ever changing and often fast paced marketplace, keeping my ear to the ground and nose to the grindstone so that I can stay on top of market trends, pricing and financing strategies. I consider it my responsibility to inform, guide and be a resource for my clients as they go through the home buying and selling process.
About Me
My professional life started in Boston in the athletic footwear industry. My first position after of college was with Hyde Athletic Industries where I was the Assistant Import/Export Manager. I then moved on to Converse Inc. where I held the position of International Operations Administrator. In both these positions I coordinated the order placement and production of international distributor purchases between the parent company and factories. It was a continual juggling act as the international markets are always on a different timeline and style cycle than the United States domestic market. Everything, yes everything, was different from order sizing, colors, fabrics, payment terms and shipping times and I was the sprocket that kept the wheel turning. What the parent company had entire departments for – purchasing, receiving, customer service, and accounting – for the domestic market; the international distributors had ME for! I embraced the many challenges and variety of people and places I dealt with every day.
I use those same skills of juggling timelines, personalities, varying projects and objectives today in my real estate business.
Two wonderful kids later, a move to Portland in 1995, a few years of life as full time mom, and all of a sudden it is 2002. Itching to start working again, I joined a small West Linn company where I obtained my Real Estate AND Mortgage License. Small company means a short supply of support staff, so I learned – by doing – every aspect of the real estate and mortgage business. No job was too small.
In September of 2007 I joined Keller Williams Realty®. The company’s continuing education programs, national exposure and culture of brokers supporting fellow brokers fit perfectly with my desire to learn, build my business and work with clients and fellow realtors in an ethical manner. I recently made the decision to concentrate solely on my Real Estate Clients, however, my lending experience has been and will continues to be invaluable asset to real estate clients as I can be a resource in understanding that often complicated side of home buying.
I look forward to a future full of opening new doors all over Portland!
