Get a feel for North Portland by learning about a few neighborhoods:

University Park sits on a bluff that overlooks the Columbia River as well as Swan Island. Homes, typically Cape Cod’s or cottages, are modest and are primarily built after 1950 and priced less than NE and SE neighborhoods.  People choose to live here to be close to the University of Portland, downtown and the industrial center of the Port of Portland.

The St. Johns neighborhood is the most northern of the Portland neighborhoods. The most scenic way to access the city is by crossing the majestic St. Johns Bridge. It has been considered one the most affordable neighborhoods with a close proximity to Portland. A quick trip across the bridge and down Highway 30 puts you in Portland in under 13 minutes. The downtown is experiencing some re-development and new stores and businesses are popping up, making it a more attractive place to live.  Bungalows, ranches and some new homes are typical of home styles found in St. Johns.
